BlackRock Aladdin & eFront Implementation, Top Tier Global Investment Manager

Our team were engaged in key leadership, design and implementation roles across the program to implement BlackRocks Aladdin platform to more than 10 countries worldwide, including the UK, France, North America, Singapore and Australia.

This included Enterprise Aladdin, Aladdin Accounting and eFront in a series of implementations spanning 5 years. The data realignment effort alone reached almost every division of the firm from Investment through to Finance and Distribution.

The Bankside team were responsible for leading the overall Technology Program and several of the workstreams beneath, leveraging the expertise of over 40 Bankside consultants within these teams.

Onboarding for largest Asset Management mandate change in UK history

In 2019, a major UK Banking and Insurance business transitioned over £90bn of Assets to a new global Asset Management provider. Moving these assets was the biggest project of its kind ever undertaken in the UK.

The project brought numerous challenges, including building out new Investment capacity and capability, delivering a new suite of bespoke reports and services, as well as complex cash and collateral flows and processes. The project timeline was extremely aggressive with no scope for adjustment or delay and as a result the migration needed precise co-ordination and management over 14 consecutive weekends.

Bankside consultants were selected to manage the Technology Program and the Migration Workstream. Our team provided leadership and delivery skills in a wide range of roles within both Business and Technology change.

All migration tranches were transitioned on schedule with overwhelmingly positive feedback from all parties on the quality of the change execution. The program completed at the end of March 2020.

Design and Delivery of Third Party Administration Platform, Major Security Services Provider

Our team managed the design and development of a new TPA platform to consolidate several “lift out’s” of client back-offices onto a single platform. This incorporated over a dozen client investment platforms, three internal account platforms and a global client base. A further challenge was to build a Hedge Fund / Derivative capability on the platform which was successfully implemented for multiple clients.

Hedge Fund, Trade Processing Platform, Global Hedge Fund Manager

Our team implemented a custom trade processing platform for a large and diverse hedge fund. Integrating Beauchamp OMS with the Salerio solution for trade confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation. This was one of the most complex Salerio implementations undertaken due to the bespoke nature of hedge funds and the trading volumes involved.

The platform was further customised to deliver a CFD confirmation solution, utilising Univista and was benchmarked to support 50k transactions per hour required for Algo trading. Alongside this our team managed the migration of multiple acquisitions of smaller hedge funds onto the platform within very short timeframes.

Solutions Business Integration – Top Tier Global Investment Manager

Following our earlier delivery successes, Bankside remains a partner with this key client. They recently acquired a solutions business with circa £42bn AUM. Bankside were retained to manage large parts of the integration program.

This included the first phase to move the acquired supporting applications from the incumbent onto the Schroders domain. Also, the second phase, to design and roll out a target operating model for the combined business. This includes work to develop the front office analytics tooling, a migration of the full business onto Aladdin and the consolidation of reporting tools.

Bankside are responsible for program management of the technology deliveries with project management, development, business analysis and QA resources embedded in the underlying workstreams.

Aladdin IBoR and Aladdin Data Cloud (ADC) – Major UK Insurance Asset Manager

Bankside are engaged to deliver the technology program for the implementation of Aladdin Enterprise and a new firm-wide data platform using Cloud technologies (Aladdin Data Cloud and Snowflake).

Our team of consultants are leading all the Technology workstreams and the overall QA of the program

This is one of the first Aladdin implementations in the UK to utilise the new Aladdin Data Cloud offering. We believe many Aladdin clients will adopt this approach in the future as a more effective way of accessing Aladdin data sets.

The same team has recently been recommended by BlackRock to provide support to another Asset Manager on a similar implementation. We are helping with questions around design, program structure and the Aladdin delivery methodology.
